Xerox Copies

I was measured in terms of my pay,
my age, my color before sending me a 'hi',
like an object, to be sure of the usage
first its lust, then came the abuse

I look back & reflect,
can you return my youth, the heights that I trekked ?
why did you deceive, why the mask?
the lies before the proposal, why may I ask?

was anything ever true?
was I always missing the clue?
tell me did I lose or did you win?
you broke me in layers, is it not a sin?

Yes, I was unique, I was distinct
and you knew it well
you deserved the xerox copies
never an original...
