The traffic light turned red and my car came to a halt at the signal. Knock, knock. I lowered the glass pane. She stood there with a pregnant belly, in tattered clothes and carried another child in her arms. She showed me the colorful handmade small teddy bears.
Please buy for your child. She pleaded repeatedly with hungry eyes. I paid her for buying two dolls and she grinned while blessing me.
“You are a good mother”, she declared.
The green light was on & my car raced ahead towards the IVF clinic.
A silent tear dropped from my eyes.
*IVF- In vitro fertilisation is a process of fertilisation where an egg is combined with sperm in vitro (“in glass”).
