The Winds of Change

Photo by Anastasia Shuraeva on Pexels.com

I peeped out of the window,

when the winds touched my face,

bringing back memories of the time,

spent together with fingers interlocked,

when we looked into each other’s eyes,

deciphering silences between us!

I peeped out of the window,

when the wind  displaced my tresses,

reminding me of you doing the same,

a closeness that promised to stay forever,

hearts building a castle of cards,

holding on to a mirage of aspirations!

I peeped out of the window,

when the wind turned the pages of my diary,

turning pages of a blissful yesterday,

that said a sudden dejected goodbye,

ruining easily the castle of cards,

shattering faiths, hopes & dreams!

NB: This poem is for submission towards Pratilipi Poetry Marathon and all my poems will be inspired by nature

Love,
