
It had been about two years now. Everything has changed. Her name, too. She puts a red bindi on her forehead now. And glass bangles adorn both her wrists. Early mornings & late nights are spent in the kitchen. Cooking for a dozen people is a daily chore.
Yet, she wakes up every morning with a new bruise. A redness here or a soreness down under!
“Marry me, please! I will keep you as my Queen!” he had proposed.
She recalls, while looking in the mirror, seeing her fading self.
“Oh God, why…me?”
Silent tears drop from her tired eyes.
