Queen

It had been about two years now. Everything has changed. Her name, too. She puts a red bindi on her forehead now. And glass bangles adorn both her wrists. Early mornings & late nights are spent in the kitchen. Cooking for a dozen people is a daily chore.

Yet, she wakes up every morning with a new bruise. A redness here or a soreness down under!

“Marry me, please! I will keep you as my Queen!” he had proposed.

She recalls, while looking in the mirror, seeing her fading self.

“Oh God, why…me?”

Silent tears drop from her tired eyes.

Love,

Chinmayee

  2. Seems like this would’ve been the alternate ending for Rani’s life if she’s chosen to go back to Vijay in Queen.
