The Choice is a River

Photo by Sindre Stru00f8m on Pexels.com

 I made a choice
 hopped on the boat
and paused
to look at thee
resembling a lot like me
but also not me
while I embroidered patterns
a little bright
a little sober
on the pashmina that conceals
that image engrossed in endless reverie.

The cascading river
took twists & turns
meandering wildly
as I searched for the reflection
now no more visible
a state of despair & then a roar.
Now the river feels warm
entering the sluggish mode
as I sit on the same boat
and slowly as I lookup
the clouds float so speedily
winking at me
as I hold on to HIS hand firmly
the image now is a little clear
resembling a lot like me
but also not me

Love ,
Chinmayee
