The Voice!

It was a Saturday and as planned we had visited our farmhouse for a weekend trip . The farmhouse was spread across a vast area covered with patches of green cover with many plantations . The caretaker of the farmhouse had been in charge of the entire property . I finished my lunch and looked outside the window. The sun was shinning brightly and the sky looked clear. There were patches of clouds that drifted away. A pleasant breezy atmosphere signaled me to have a stroll outside and I could not resist myself from putting on my slippers and venturing out, simultaneously ignoring others take on why I should be going out at this point in time !

It was a sunny day and the temperature was slightly higher even though it was winters. The flowers bloomed and I could see so many variants of marigold flowers adding to the glory of the garden. Apart from this, the velvety rose buds looked absolutely magical and swayed across while tilting their heads with a rhythm as per the wind that blew .I then took a stroll towards the kitchen garden which amazed me with its rich variety and the way each and every plant has been taken care of! I opened the gate and took a walk to the open space which was around two to three kilometers away from our farmhouse. Everywhere there was greenery , except that little space that looked barren with leafless trees standing like questions. I slowly reached the space. It looked like a puzzle. I felt as if a voice whisper when I touched one of the trees! I ignored it and walked further and touched one of the branches, the voice became louder as if there was someone behind me. I turned around with a jerk while my heart skipped a beat. I, unknowingly in that moment, broke a twig from one of the branches and a heard a piercing voice screaming into my ears. I was covered in sweat instantly and I almost ran towards our farmhouse as fast as possible. I wanted some water as my mouth felt dry. I saw the caretaker and called out to him for some water. He looked at me, smiled mysteriously and then screamed loudly!

The next moment I see myself opening the door of the farmhouse and come out !
