I have been nominated by the poetess Ellora Mohanty to participate in the poetic marathon #PeetMeNotLeave. For eight consecutive days, I will be publishing one of my poems along with a photo.

I have been quite late in participating in this contest but nonetheless, I wanted to give it a try for the sheer joy of being able to create some poetic landscapes. I hope you like my attempt and in some way, enjoy the journey. I welcome you all on this fun ride!!

I have chosen Fire/light as my inspiration and I hope I do justice to the theme through my poems.

The eighth & the last poem is captioned as Radiance of You & Me…

The flickers of light flew in the dark

painting the hues of tangerine in the evening sky

forcing us to get lost in the moment

of our first kiss with closed eyelids under

the favourite pine shaped Deodar tree

invoking childhood memories which

dance modestly letting us ride the

time machine to travel down the nostalgic hills

sealing the bond of a pious love

promising to ignite a lively relationship

creating indelible impressions in this Universe

comprising just you & me.

The winds of time blew soon &

the seasons quickly metamorphosed

from scarlet fall colored environs

to the vivacious greens of the monsoon

when you got soaked in the lone desire of lust

waving a goodbye that tore apart my heart

ignoring all those little celebrated moments

that we created with patience, passion & trust

drowning in the sea of fantasy filled illusions

looking for shortcuts leading to instant pleasures

obliterating what once existed

Just between you & me!

Soon you start missing my soothing embrace

when the volatile spirits of seduction turn to ashes

when your decision makes you question your reflection

when you start missing the depth of emotions

when you realize hollowness without a soul connection

when your desire to look back becomes stronger

probing for my solace- filled eyes that you, find no longer

enquiring every atom in the galaxy about

the secret to recreating the past ,

the magic to undo what has been done

can we rekindle the balanced fire of lustful forever love

between Just you & me?
