  • About the Author–  Apeksha Rao is a  YA writer based in Bangalore. She started discovering her passion for writing   During her parenting years and wrote her debut novel. She completed her debut novel by participating in the NaNoWriMo contest.   She wears multiple hats of being a homeopathic doctor, mother, and now an author as well! She also has her own Youtube Channel.
  • Narration:  The narration is very comprehensible and mostly in the form of dialogues between the protagonists. This makes the book lively and engaging.
  • Content:   The book can be categorized into contemporary fiction or young adult genre. It has a comic tinge to it and is about a teenager trying to pursue her own dreams which might seem offtrack to normal people. But Samira, the main protagonist is a  rebellious character mostly like many teenagers  struggles to make others understand about her viewpoints.  She belongs to a family where her parents are spies themselves and hence she also has her own passionate dream but does not get support from her family. The witty protagonist uses all methods to convince everyone to see things from her side. Her mother is quite strict and she has an endearing grandmother who makes her appearances as per the demand of the story.  It also  mirrors a mother-daughter relationship which is not very conventional. The story is a unique portrayal of not so common family, their unusual ways of handling problems, comic colors with witty narration makes it a compelling read. It is actually a prequel to the next book titled“Along came a spyder”.
