Hello lovely souls !

India is a conglomeration of many faiths, beliefs and customs . There is harmony in the differences which is very unique and intriguing as well. We can find that the rich culture and traditions in different parts of the country also bear some resemblances. For example, during this time there is onset of a New Year which marks the harvesting season crucial for an agrarian economy like us where 70 % of the population are still dependent on agriculture and its allied services.

The states that follow a solar calendar have a new year around this time. To elaborate, many states are celebrating a new beginning in their own unique ways . It is being celebrated as Baishakhi in North and Central India, Rongali Bihu in Assam, Putthandu in Tamil Nadu,Vishu in Kerala, Poila Boishakh in West Bengal and Maha Bishuba Sankranti in Odisha.

I guess this year, the prayers that we all have in the New Year is to have the best of health for everyone. These past few days have made us realise that there is nothing more than having a healthy life!

Our perspective towards life has to change. More than money, more than fame, more than greed, it is health that we all should be looking after. Not only ours but also of our near and dear ones. Because only when we are alive, we will be able to do anything else.

I wish everyone a very healthy and prosperous Happy New Year .

With love,

Chinmayee!
