A Book in his hands
with pages between his fingers
a bed side lamp
and a soft linen
dancing on his brawny & bare torso
a sight to behold;
was it the book?
or was it the caressing of the pages?
or was it just him, a rare sight of a well read man?
But I envied the book
for it had a dialogue with him
a conversation shared
a laughter session unfurled
secret codewords exchanged
all between him & the damn book
yes, I envied the book!
"What is it?" he asked
"Nothing !" I frowned
He looked at me with a smile
as if decoding tiny creases in my turbulent heart
He flipped the first page & flashed
& I simply blushed
for it was the book I had written
dedicated to him
affairs of the heart written on stone...
