We

I:       Why should it be me all the time?

You: Why not? Do you not know the importance of me in your life?

I:        What about me then?

You:   Well… I do not have time for all this!

I:       Time … of course!

The paths crossed for a brief period before taking another twist.  There was uncanny silence.  A silence which made ego the winner & affection had to hide itself in one corner.

I & You loved each other, but not enough!

I & You stood upright all the time.

Yes, I & You won but ‘We’ certainly lost!

Love,

Chinmayee

  1. The way you personified ‘I’ and ‘You’ to highlight the loss of ‘We’ is moving and thought-provoking. A beautifully written reminder of the importance of unity over individuality.

  2. This ‘I’ and ego destroys so many relationships. That’s why I like this philosophy which says, “Is it an ”I’ problem or a ‘we’ problem? Solve it accordingly.”

  3. “A silence which made ego the winner & affection had to hide itself in one corner.” It gave me goosebumps! An absolute truth is revealed by you in this story. The “we” could be the ultimate solution but very few understand this.
