Hurry Up… Maa!

“Papa, let us go. You have your appointment today. We can’t miss it. The doctor will be out of the town for a fortnight starting tomorrow.” I said, looking at my watch.

“Nah… not until she comes along.” He demanded like a child.

“Papa, please not every time.”

He looked at me with eagerness in his eyes.

“Hurry up… Maa! Papa needs you.”

He stood up with a smile, ready to go.

It has been seven years since Maa’s death. Even Dementia could not make Papa forget Maa!

But how do I tell him that it breaks me every single time?

Love,

Chinmayee
