Independence is probably a bird,

that is free to fly in the open sky,

flapping its wings with all force,

soaring great heights, putting in all efforts.

If you plan to cage the bird,

& look into what it eats ; what it thinks,

the bird might still survive

the wings will just forget to take the flight.

The bird might then slowly stop singing,

its soul that has travelled far & wide,

will silently cry in the hiding,

for the cage will never be beautiful as the sky so wide !

My Nation too is a free bird,

and a bright golden one it is,

let it remain free & reach greater heights,

for its incredibly unique & it’s wonders never cease!

Let it remain free from notions that are ill,

let it’s diversity be the strength & not a peril,

come let’s unite in our actions & thoughts,

hatred is easy but it is love that has all the answers !

Wishing all my fellow countrymen a glorious 75th Independence Day! May we always rise above the hatred & difference of opinions amongst us and be united, for we all belong to this unique country, that is India, our motherland!
